In addition to the various village sports club, the Victoria Hall complex hosts live music events, cinema screenings, a friendly Bridge Club, an Arts Group, a choir, quilting and needlecraft sessions, tea dances, T’ai Chi and U3A meetings. For Pilates, yoga, fitness classes and wellbeing workshops, there’s the Lucy Pygott Centre, a modern community hub with facilities for cricket, football and croquet. The local community comes together to enjoy a programme of events including a festival in June with live music and food stalls.
Thriving independent shops and boutiques provide plenty of retail opportunities whether you’re looking for artisanal baked goods, gifts, clothing or furniture and, every Friday morning, the Country Market features local produce including baked goods, preserves and hand-made crafts.
