Ascot is, of course, famed for its racecourse which is an important feature of local life, hosting a range of events throughout the year but the town has plenty more to offer for retirees including shops, high quality designer boutiques, a jeweller’s, restaurants, bars and music venues.
Living in Ascot, you’ll find all your daily needs on the High Street from supermarkets and pharmacies to banks.
There’s a Sainsbury’s Local and Tesco Express, along with an independent butcher’s, a patisserie, hardware store, newsagent, convenience store – and, near the station, a cheese and wine store too. For your weekly shop, Waitrose is located in nearby Sunningdale.
Coffee shops include the popular chains, Costa and Starbucks, as well as some delightful independents. If you’re eating out, there’s a range of cuisines with high quality Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants and some excellent local gastro pubs. On New Road, close to the development, there’s a well-stocked convenience store and a pharmacy and, in North Ascot, a further selection of shops, including a post office.
For those who enjoy golf, this area is home to some impressive courses including The Berkshire Golf Club, Royal Ascot Golf Club, Sunningdale Golf Club and Wentworth – as well as nearby Mill Ride Golf Club which has its own health and fitness suite.
Charters Leisure Centre on Charters Road provides excellent fitness facilities and there are a number of private gyms in the area.
Healthwise, you'll find two medical practices and two dental surgeries within a mile of our development and Ascot is home to Heatherwood Hospital.
