Reigate, a delightful Surrey market town in the shadow of the North Downs is often at the top of The Times and Sunday Times list of Best Places to Live. This year, the publications described the story of the town’s popularity as ‘the classic banks-to-bakeries tale of a market town where country meets capital.’
Reigate has deserved its place on the best places list. The town’s vibrant High Street has an abundance of boutiques and a global food scene – with a choice of Lebanese, Korean, Italian, Thai, Argentinian and Indian cuisine. The town has a cinema, theatre and art galleries as well as some fabulous places to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee and cake. Transport links are excellent – by rail, it’s about 45 minutes to London Bridge and 50 minutes to London Victoria. Gatwick Airport is about 20 minutes’ journey by rail and with the M25 on hand, Brighton is about an hour’s drive away.
