The idea of making a move in later life can be daunting but Christabel Lee, who recently moved to Beechcroft’s Longcross Place in Wallingford, is extremely pleased that she did so.
“At the time I discovered Beechcroft, I was living in a flat in a very nice part of Oxford,” says Miss Lee. “Over the years, however, the city has become so much busier and rather than having neighbours of a similar age to myself, much younger people were moving in. Of course, there’s the Corn Exchange with a wonderful cultural offering and, from Wallingford, it’s easy to get back into Oxford to see friends.”
“When I visited Longcross Place, Beechcroft’s sales consultant was so helpful – and continued to help throughout the entire process. I looked at all the plans and came to view my preferred apartment during the early stages of construction. I reserved off plan because I didn’t want to lose it. It’s a big thing to move home in later life but I was so taken with the apartment the first time visited – and every time I returned, it just got better and better.”

“The wonderful apartment I envisaged when I first pored over the plans has certainly materialised. It’s south facing, with a lovely view over the garden and beyond and has a really large balcony. At this time of year, I can see the sunset and some of the sunrise. One of the reasons I chose this apartment is because of all the areas of wall space, including the long, angled hallway where I can hang my large collection of pictures. Beechcroft provided the services of a handyman and he has put up eight of my heaviest pictures for me.”
“It’s a lovely feeling to move into a brand-new apartment especially one that is finished so beautifully with deep skirtings, high coving, luxurious bathrooms and high-quality carpets. Everything is just to my taste.”
