According to property experts enlisted by the Sunday Times, The Surrey Hills is the best place to live in the South East of England in 2021. These experts, taking into account a whole range of factors, including culture, green spaces, transport and the health of the High Street, commented that ‘panoramic views and timeless, picture-perfect villages’ make the Surrey Hills a ‘gloriously, romantic, rural idyll.”
This year, the Sunday Times’ experts have focused on community, countryside and convenience rather than on cities or small villages. Small towns, such as Godalming, are large enough to offer everything you need within walking distance but are small enough for people to feel connected.
Homebuyers at Beechcroft’s Hampton Manor in Godalming, set amidst ancient woodlands with panoramic views would certainly agree. Hampton Manor is a collection of just 24 exceptional new apartments, nine of which have been newly built and a further 16 the result of Beechcroft’s careful conversion of a stately Victorian building, formerly the Manor House Hotel. The majority of the new homes feature a terrace, balcony, private garden, roof garden or a combination of these.
The new show home at Hampton Manor will certainly provide a glimpse into what life could be like at this exclusive development. Priced at £700,000 and located on the second floor with lift access, this show apartment is spectacular offering superb views over the Surrey Hills. The wonderfully light and airy triple-aspect open plan living space includes a drawing room, dining hall and kitchen providing superb views over the Surrey Hills countryside. There’s a separate utility room tucked away off the hallway. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and the second bedroom has an adjacent shower room. The soft shades and a variety of textures used in the interior design scheme complement and enhance the apartment’s sense of light and space and give this new home a special, indefinable, quality.
The show home is beautifully finished but all apartments at Hampton Manor come complete with high quality fixtures and fittings. Kitchens include bespoke cabinets, stone worktops, a full range of top-brand integrated appliances including a washing machine/tumble dryer in the utility area. Bathrooms and en-suites feature Villeroy and Boch sanitaryware, fitted vanity units, heated towel rails and mirrors with feature lighting. Each apartment also comes complete with flooring.
Godalming is a popular place to live, with its attractive High Street, traditional local shops, cafes and restaurants, lovely riverside park and great transport links including a mainline station.
Hampton Manor’s Estate Manager, Wayne Madeley, is on hand to ensure the development is maintained to the highest standards. The Manager takes responsibility for the upkeep of private gardens and the landscaped setting and the cleaning and maintenance of the communal areas as well as keeping an eye on homes whilst owners are away. As Wayne confirms, there’s already a sense of community at Hampton Manor.
