Making a Move to Seymour Court, Thame

There is little doubt that Thame is one of the most attractive market towns in South Oxfordshire, with a good selection of local shops including two excellent butchers, a weekly market, a choice of places to eat and drink, a theatre and a whole range of cultural activities.

For the last eight years, Mike and Erica have really enjoyed living in Thame. Currently, they own a refurbished home in what was, originally, Thame's workhouse. Whilst they have been happy in their home, Mike's rugby playing days have left him with a weakness in his knees and, looking to the future, navigating the three flights of stairs in their current property is likely to become a problem.

With this in mind, Mike and Erica began to look for alternatives. They considered buying a bungalow but these are rarely available in Thame, so when Beechcroft introduced Seymour Court, it was the perfect solution for the couple.

Located on the site of the former fire station on Park Street, Seymour Court is an exclusive development of just 21 elegant new and converted two and three-bedroom houses and apartments, designed for the over 55s. The original Fire Engine House has been carefully converted to create an attractive two-bedroom house with two en-suites and a dressing room to the master bedroom. The development also includes a converted two-bedroom ground floor apartment with a private south-east facing terrace and a two-bedroom first floor apartment with a private balcony. The majority of the new two and three-bedroom homes offer outside space, either a balcony or terrace, and some have private gardens.

"Beechcroft came at the ideal time for us - we went to see the sales team at an early stage and were able to choose an apartment with a patio and garden which overlooks the communal gardens. It certainly ticks all the boxes for us," comments Mike.

"Our family lives abroad and we will be able to lock up and leave to visit them and that will certainly work as theres an Estate Manager on hand at Seymour Court to keep an eye on things including our home and our car."

"This is our fourth new property and we are very impressed with the standard of Beechcrofts fixtures and fittings. At the moment, we are in the process of sorting out our belongings we have recognised the fact that at our stage of life we don't need to be sentimental. We dont need much of the 'stuff' we've horded for years and we will buy furniture and furnishings in keeping with our new apartment."

"We are delighted that we will be able to stay in Thame which has excellent communication links which are useful. Although we are retired, we still work on occasion and this necessitates travelling and, of course, we spend time abroad. In Thame, we really are in the place we want to be the M40 is on hand and its easy to get to London. By train, using the Chiltern Lane, its only a 40-minute journey and were about half an hour from Heathrow. Whats more, living at Seymour Court, we will be able to walk everywhere in and around Thame."

Mike speaks highly of Beechcroft's sales team at Seymour Court: "Beechcroft's Sales Consultant has been extremely receptive, patient, understanding and responsive, qualities which are so important when you are making such a crucial life-changing decision."

Currently, prices at Seymour Court, Thame range from 350,000 to 650,000 and further information is available from Beechcrofts sales team on 01844 216827. The development is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Saturday inclusive and a show home is available to view.
