Leading retirement developer, Beechcroft, renowned for its beautifully-landscaped, award-winning gardens, is teaming up with a local garden centre in Medstead on Tuesday 22 May to demonstrate how to create the perfect hanging basket or terrace planter.
Beechcroft's fully-maintained, landscaped settings are an integral part of each new retirement development. The company's own research reveals that for 89% of retired homebuyers, the difficulty of maintaining an older house/large garden is a deciding factor in downsizing. At the same time, 81% of these say that the garden is the one thing they think they’ll miss most when they move.
On each new retirement development, Beechcroft aims to recreate the type of garden that home buyers may have left behind - albeit a communal garden on a larger scale. Communal gardens are designed to be full of colour, texture, movement and scent and private gardens, which are also fully maintained, are planted according to the same principle. Owners are able to help with the gardening if they wish, provided the original planting schedule is not compromised.
The vast majority of Beechcroft properties offer private outside space from terraces and balconies to roof terraces and owners, regardless of whether they enjoy gardening or not, like to add a 'splash' of colour in the form of hanging baskets or planters. With this in mind, Beechcroft is hosting an event at Maygate Place in Medstead on Tuesday 22 May, starting at 11 am, when staff from Garthowen Garden Centre will demonstrate how to create hanging baskets and planters. The completed displays will be offered as raffle prizes and refreshments will be available.
After the demonstration, guests will be able to take a look at the show home - and talk to the Beechcroft team about the benefits of moving to Maygate Place; a development for the over 60s comprising just 17 two and three-bedroom houses, each with a sun room and private garden. An on-site estate management service handles the administration of the development, including organising the gardening of both private and communal gardens - and the Manager is on hand to keep an eye on properties whilst owners are away.
Places at the event are limited so to secure an invitation to the event, please contact the Beechcroft team on 01420-561664. Full details of Maygate Place, Medstead and all other Beechcroft developments are online at www.beechcroft.co.uk.
