What are the best places to stay in the UK for families?

  • Aviemore offers plenty of fun activities for the family. In winter, you can ski, snowboard and ice-skate. In summer, there's white water rafting and canoeing - all activities which will make you feel energised and exhilarated.

  • London is one of the most exciting cities – once lockdown is lifted, the choice of activities in central London is endless and not necessarily costly. There are museums and plenty of fun events on offer for children that are reasonably priced.

  • The Lake District has plenty of free or low cost events for the family - from archery to canoeing. If you need some advice, there's a list of family-friendly activities on the lakedistrict.gov.uk website.

  • North Yorkshire: not only does North Yorkshire have some fabulous scenery that's perfect for horse-riding and walking, it's also home to some of the prettiest coastal towns in England -  Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.

  • West Sussex: the beach at West Wittering is a family favourite as is Arundel Castle which usually hosts jousting tournaments in the summer – and there’s sailing in Chichester Harbour.
