Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

The following statement is published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Modern Slavery can take various forms including, but not limited to, forced and compulsory labour, human trafficking, slavery and servitude; all of which represent a violation of fundamental rights and a deprivation of an individual’s liberty by other(s) who intend to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

The Beechcroft Group is one of the UK's leading retirement developers building high quality homes for the over 55s in some of the most attractive towns and villages in Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Middlesex, Gloucestershire and Kent.
The Group and its subsidiaries have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity - and expect the same high standards from all the Group’s sub-contractors, suppliers and business partners.

OUR POLICIES
The Group is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking does not exist within its supply chain, nor in any other area of its operations.

One of the key factors for the ongoing success of the business is the development of mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, allowing the Group to engage with partners on a regular basis to safeguard the highest level of quality and integrity.

In order to identify and mitigate any risks:

  • The Group’s standard subcontract terms and conditions have been reviewed and updated to include anti-slavery and human trafficking obligations on all of its business partners.
  • The Group will continue to work closely with its supply chain to ensure compliance.
  • The Group will build long standing relationships with suppliers and make clear its expectations of ethical behavior.
  • The Group will ensure an appropriate system is in place to encourage the reporting of concerns and protection of any employees who raise issues through a Whistle blowing Policy.
  • The Group will ensure an appropriate level of risk awareness in respect of modern slavery is incorporated into the training of all relevant managers and staff members throughout the organisation.

OUR EMPLOYEES
All new employees are subject to a vetting process that ensures the Company only employs individuals with the necessary and expected level of integrity and those with a right to work in the UK.

All agency staff are sourced through reputable companies which either operate on a large regional or national scale and, as a result, are expected to have their own safeguarding polices.

RESPONSIBILITY
Although the Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy is adhered to, all levels of management are responsible for ensuring those who report to them understand and comply with the policy and the Group’s requirements under the Act.

The Beechcroft Group is fully committed to the ongoing requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors and will be reviewed on an annual basis.
