Beechcroft's winning 'hat trick' at National Housebuilder Awards

Beechcroft Developments was crowned 'Small Housebuilder of The Year' at the Housebuilder Awards 2017 – as well as being selected as the winner of The Best Refurbishment Project for Fitzroy Gate in Old Isleworth and the winner of the Best Retirement Development for Penhurst Gardens in Chipping Norton.

The ’Best Housebuilder’ accolades, run by Housebuilder Magazine in association with the National House Building Council, were announced in London at a prestigious gala dinner attended by over 500 guests and hosted by comedian Al Murray in his guise as 'The Pub Landlord.'

Over three decades, Beechcroft Developments has become one of the UK’s leading retirement developers building high quality homes for the over 55s in some of the most attractive towns and villages in the southern counties. The company’s retirement houses and apartments enjoy beautifully maintained landscaped settings and each development provides an estate management service, good access to shops, services and transport links and a community of like-minded people. The company’s Special Projects Division focuses on the restoration and conversion of buildings of historic or architectural interest; most are not age-exclusive and some have a covenant preventing under 16s from living at the development full-time.

"We are absolutely delighted by the success of our developments and by the ultimate accolade of Best Small Housebuilder," comments Angela South, Sales and Marketing Director for Beechcroft Developments. “As a housebuilder, creating just under 100 new homes a year, we focus on selecting excellent locations and building new homes or restoring and converting period properties to provide our home buyers with plenty of well-designed living space and attractive settings. It is extremely satisfying a panel of property experts recognise the quality of our work.”

Set within a seven-acre riverside estate within the Isleworth Riverside Conservation Area, Fitzroy Gate comprises 14 elegant houses and apartments that are the result of Beechcroft’s careful restoration and conversion of a Grade II listed mansion dating from 1832, its stable block and a listed red-brick chapel, designed by Pugin & Pugin, and dating from 1902. St James is constructing new townhouses on part of the site and Beechcroft has added nine new apartments to complement the original mansion. Only two converted homes remain available and both are in the chapel conversion. Each offers three en-suite bedrooms and spectacular living space including original ecclesiastical features.

Penhurst Gardens, a collection of new two and three-bedroom houses and apartments, has been created on the site of the former Penhurst School in Chipping Norton. The development is set in landscaped, fully maintained gardens and owners are able to take advantage of a menu of services offered by a neighbouring care home from daily hot meals to hairdressing – and are able to join the regular social events. Forming part of Penhurst Gardens is Buchanan House, a building formerly used by the school, originally constructed as a pair of Victorian villas and now converted into 11 one, two and three-bedroom houses and apartments. Currently, two apartments and two houses remain available at Buchanan House, priced from £350,000 for a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor.
