Yvonne is one of first in line at Frenchlands Gate - and first to move in!
Yvonne Hancox of East Horsley near Guildford took some time to find her ideal retirement property – but when she did, everything happened quickly. Now, just weeks later, she is looking forward to moving to Beechcroft’s Frenchlands Gate development, close to her former home.
"I realised some time ago that I needed to move home. I have been living in a very pretty bungalow with a huge garden and whilst I love gardening, I feel that I can’t cope any longer," comments Yvonne. "It’s just taken so long to find the right property. I visited Beechcroft’s The Clock House development in Byfleet almost two years ago and, whilst I thought the houses and the gardens were lovely, I didn’t want to move away from East Horsley. I belong to several local organisations including an Arts Society, bridge club and the University of the Third Age and living in East Horsley means I’m close to my family who live in Guildford."

"I was one of the first to register my interest in Frenchlands Gate," continues Yvonne. I reserved one of the new homes at a weekend launch, I put my bungalow on the market with Wills & Smerdon on the Thursday and sold by the following Saturday. I had to choose another new home as the one I’d originally planned on buying was not going to be ready for some months. I never expected to sell so quickly!"
"Frenchlands Gate is a lovely development. My new house has two bedrooms but it’s really spacious and has two bathrooms – so I’m not really downsizing and I have my own garden," concludes Yvonne. "My new home will be energy-efficient and with good insulation, will hopefully save on costs."
